Time Flies

Sometimes it seems there's so much going on it's hard to pick any one thing to talk about. Focusing locally, our ag commission hosted the first annual harvest dinner. Working with neighbors and friends to use foods produced in our town was a joy. Then to see the community come together and enjoy a meal family style brought everything together. It made us think how far we've strayed from making or knowing the people who make our food. It's now trending to have an 'ingredient kitchen' when for most of our existence that's how we survived. Take whatever is available, add a little love, and prepare a healthy meal for your family. The best thing about this approach is that we don't have to worry about where our food comes from. And we support our local economy which helps ensure everyone can enjoy good food. Food insecurity is real and right here in our town and region. A hearty thank you to all who support their local family farms and food producers. Spread the word and keep it up!
